Where do they reside? I never went over to Berkeley or Oakland. Is Marin County against Asains? It's so affluent - what gives?

The few times I have been in Marin, white folks would stare at me like I was a martian with three heads.

i was raised in marin and when i was a child we were quite poor and immigrants. we were actually really welcomed into the community.

when i got older i moved to san francisco for the action but when it was time to raise my family i knew marin was where i wanted to be. great schools, beautiful surroundings, safe neighborhoods.

when my sister was ready to start her family she also moved out of san francisco back to marin.

i have had some instances of racism in marin but maybe 1 or 2 over a long period (decades) and they weren't that malicious (kids that didn't really know better)...BUT i have experienced alot more racism elsewhere like southern california.

my neighbor behind me is japanese. the couple across the street has an asian wife. the house behind them has asian owners.

i think segregation in marin is more economical. even though i live in a modest area and not where the super-rich are, the homes are still in the 750-950k range so it is not easily attainable for everyone.

This site lists the top sources of foreign born populations by county. Marin is the only Bay Area county to not have an Asian country on its list of foreign born population. The top sources in Marin are Mexico, Guatamala, Canada, The UK, Germany, and suprisignly Iran, but no Asian country. I have also heard that Marin has the highest percentage of Jews for any California county.

There it is. It's the Jews who are discriminating against the Asians. That's why Marin is so disproportionately non-Asian.

If we can just clear away the Jews, Marin County can become diverse just like the multicultural utopia that is the rest of the SFBA.
