I remember 55 KTSA..and the older announcer (his name escapes me right now) for the news who seemed to start off every newscast with "Bienvenidos..todos mis amigos" or something similar to that. Always thought it was funny to hear him speak some spanish on an english speaking rock station when I was young. I have to admit though, it was one of the first phrases that I learned and understood what it meant as a kid.

Remember Jud Ashmore who did the weather on channel 5 for awhile? He used to end his weathercasts with something like "hug somebody, it'll make you feel good!"
The 'older' guy who led off his newscast in the morning on KTSA was Logan Stuart..... bienvendios a todos mis amigos was his. Kinda late but I just joined and started reading!

the Crystal Pistol is a hair salon by the name of JD&Victor, has been for a few years. I'm one of their clients! But they do massages and pedicures also.

Dwangle-thanks for the reminder of the fireworks. In 1965 I took my new girlfriend in my old but new to me 348 c.i. three deuces chevy convertable to watch the fireworks display. We were chaperoned by her younger sister and friend at her mothers request.
Interesting evening with fireworks noise, smoke and smell of gunpowder, and the giggling girls in the back seat. Two months later I totaled the car and spent a month in the hospital. Ohhhhhhhhh memories.

I think it was Dante's pizza on Fred rd by the drive-in That is where they had the KEXL "Here lies the last free radio station" party when they went off the air.

Default Madame Teresa Brown?

Does anyone know what happened to Madame Teresa Brown? I know after her son was killed in a car wreck on Babcock and most of us were getting shut down she just dropped out of sight (well, there was that little black book thing) ?

I just did a search on this thread and am surprised that nobody has mentioned the infamous and dreaded Selma, Texas speed trap on I35 in the 80's.
