I was a regular on Swingtime and thanks for thinking we were cool. I was in college at that time and having a great time. Mel Adcock was the producer and a great friend and manager.

Or was it on a different corner.

I heard that when you went to Fujia they made you remove your shoes.
Is that true?

Like I said,
Epp's was right there in the crotch of Fred Rd and Zarzamora.
That would be across the street from Fujiya, to the east.
I don't know what year Fujiya moved in
on the west side of Zarzamora.

One night my girlfriend and I went in to Fujiya for dinner.
Her brother's wife came along because brother/hubby was out of town.

Walked in, and there he was.
Sitting on the floor in his socks,
Having dinner with his girlfriend.

Needless to say, quite a scene.

I don't remember if shoe removal was *required*,

And, *if* I remember correctly,
they had chairs and tables with legs on them,
for the folks that didn't want to sit on the floor.

I had to evacuate a few years ago when everyone thought the Medina Dam would break.
I ended up in a Red Cross shelter.
I hope no one ever has to experience that but it was not that bad.
I was just glad my home was there and nothing happened.

Where do you live down there??

In the 1920s 30s, My GreatGrandFather had a BlackSmith shop
right outside of Losoya, on the Medina River.

The girls are drinking Cokes.
Does that mean they were underage?
Is that Budweiser ?

Dwang, I cain't tell what brand beer.

As to the age of our dads, you raise a point I had never thought of -

My dad, 03 27 1928 - 04 08 1992 RIP -
would have just turned 19 years of age,
according to the date he wrote on the back.

Anyway, who knows what was in those CocaCola glasses,
knowing my Dad the way I did,
I'm guessing there was a flask in a back pocket somewhere.

Here's another picture of my Dad from 1946,
on the beach in San Diego, on a gov't issued Indian cycle.

How about Mr Dundebak's? I think that was in North Star Mall? I forgot that it was a Jim's I remember going in their and getting roast beef sandwhiches. Think Arbys to 11. Use to live on Montfort until the 3rd grade (68) then moved over to Shalimar behind Jackson Keller Elementary.

Oh my gosh Cushman motorscooter - 1955-57 at Longfellow JHS an older guy would drive by on his Cushman Eagle blue 8hp two speed. It was hard to learn and study the rest of the day except I can still see the quadratic equation on a piece of white poster board above the chalkboard. Day dream scooters and petticoats...........................
