Can you say Brady Bunch? Has a few MCM traits though, and the pool area looks like something outta a Jayne Mansfield-A-Go-Go drive-in double feature.

Default 1950 Modern in Green Meadow, 78213

http://images3.gabriels.net/SanAntonio/MLS_Photos/SABOR636766.jpg (broken link)

Great lines. Excellent price (112K). May be a lil too small for me (1,290 sq ft)

MLS# 636766

How's the location?

What about Highland Hills? 78210 and there's another zip too I think.

I am not an expert on this. I just noticed a lot of homes over there are built around 1950 or thereabouts... we were driving and saw quite a few sprawlers.

Is this what you're looking for? 614804
Access it via realtor.com and you can see the "virtual tour". That is one big house for a 2 bedroom!!! I live in the neighborhood, too. It's not bad.

Thanks fierce_flawless. I would need a 3 bedroom though. I would like something like the one I, smuboy86 and googie posted above. So you live in Highland Hills? Take some pics if you can. Thanks

I'm sorry, I guess I was confusing.

I've seen some MCM's in Highland Hills while driving around. I don't live there, just looking in Highland Park and ended up in Highland Hills accidentally.

I live in Los Angeles heights, which is where that house was that I posted the MLS for.

It's a 2 bedroom but it has a family room, sitting room, either of which could be used as a bedroom, I'd say. Crap, we need a 4 or 5 bedroom but we could live in that! It's huge! If it was in my price range I might be considering it... breaking my "nothing post 1940" rule.

$299K...78209/Northwood

Too expensive for me. I forgot your budget googie, but this one is sweet.

Get rid of that awful country kitchen and you're good to go.

Floors me that Northwood is that expensive now, 5-10 years ago that house would have been 150K tops. That's what you get when the Elementary schools are some of the best in the city.

Yeah, I saw this listing yesterday, but once I peeked inside, oh man! That countrified kitchen, those "Italian" columns in the bedroom, and that horrid late 80's bathroom is just TOO much. It would cost a fortune to undo all the remuddling heaped on that place. It just drives me nuts when people go to such great lengths to make MCM look like anything other than what it is, like trying to magically transform a Spanish Revival into, say, a Craftsman - makes NO sense and doesn't fool anybody (and don't get me started on those vinyl/glass "country cottage" Home Depot doors you see on practically every MCM these days, ugh)...I say gut it all call IKEA !

I concur with SMUBOY, Northwood has really gotten pricey these days. I spent half my childhood in that neighborhood (Grandmother lived there), and remember what neighbors' houses were selling for...I just can't get over the sticker shock (which has been driving my mounting mania to buy now before it REALLY gets out-of-whack). Just 5 years ago this particular house would have sold for maybe 100,000. Drats!

Anyway, I just made an offer on an MCMish Ranch in the general vicinity, but don't wanna elaborate just yet (my realtor will let me know Monday morning) -I may jinx myself!
