It's either brilliant baiting or amazingly disingenuous.

So, what, you're telling me he actually works for the Rochester Chamber of Commerce and this is all part of a "let's empower our residents to defend our city online" campaign?

If so - It's clearly working...

Depends on what you mean by ""baiting"; my understanding of that term on this forum has always been that it means someone is making a bold/obnoxious statement/claim in order to get arise out of people and annoy them for the sheer fun of it. "biting" is when their mission is accomplished and a backlash of defensive posts come about.

I'd make way too many waves working for the city and the neanderthals working there now wouldn't be able to handle it. I sure could have some fun though I'm sure, at least for a few months.

And yes, I'mInformed is spot on.

Not exactly. Baiting is often used in serious debates as a tactic. For example, it is often used to expose faulty logic... Not that that's happened on this forum at all ;-)

Unfortunately, all of my logic is faulty because I just make sweeping generalizations, just ask garmin

Generalizations are widely regarded as a poor debating tactic. Generalizations are usually what people reach for when they don't have specific knowledge on a topic. I catch myself doing it sometimes, but then stop myself and realize I need to invest the time and learn more about something before opening my mouth. No shame in not knowing (and admitting it).
