The "love me, bow down and worship me, or I'll send you into a pit of fire" is what I gather from the Bible along with people....so I can not love god and still not go to hell?

Catholicism/Christianity is more than doctrine, it's a way of life. You can be your own evangelist, it might open a whole new world and perspective.
You can at least appreciate the sermon on the mount in your own way.
Yes, we have free will. If you didn't you wouldn't have a choice. If we didn't have free will you wouldn't be asking this question.
If you didn't have free will, you would be worshipping God, which you say that you don't.
If you didn't have free will, you wouldn't have a choice in going to church. It would be mandatory.
If you didn't have free will, you would be forced to follow God, or forced to worship Him, or forced to believe in Him, or forced to pray to HIm.
HOw much of those things is God forcing you to do/ I take it none, because you say you don't do any of them. So, if you don't have free will, then what are you being forced to do?
I don't hear of you saying that God is forcing you on your knees, or beating you to worship Him, or making you sing to Him.
The only thing I see you doing is questioning why you think that people would believe, worship or want to even come to God.
Then answer me this. Since you don't have free, how much time is God forcing you to pray, or how much time is God making you worship Him, or how much time is God making you read the bible, since you don't have free will?

You're right. God did not make war or hate. However, some famines are caused by factors that humans can't control.
Christians apparently don't understand the difference between a choice and an ultimatum. This religion presents an ultimatum, not a choice.
