Not sure what you mean, LearnMe. I have over 42,000 posts, many have been moved to the philosophy forum, and my synthesis in 4 blog posts detailing my views. That can hardly be called lying in the weeds.
Not what I meant by lying in the weeds. Never mind...
Luckily, my friends are like sponges for this stuff, sitting mesmerized and getting inspired.
Then, they tell me about their times of being taken, swept away into other states.
Cosmic Consciousness is the general term...coined around 1898
by Dr. RM Bucke---you can still get his thick book online.
He was a pioneer exposing this amazing experience that usually comes from 'nowhere suddenly'.
Much like Dr. Raymond Moody who coined the term Near death experience.
I've got friends who also get high on a regular basis. Some even to the point of near death experience, generally not considered a good thing...
You'll have to consider that hamster wheel on your own; from my perspective, it begins (and ends) with a physiological process i.e. your perception (and how you choose to interpret it).
That said, I believe you believe god visited you. ; )
I believe you misunderstand me, but perhaps enough of that hamster wheel indeed...
I must remind you, Mystic that I don't believe in the pagan mystical god of the Old Testament. All these stories of him are fanciful creations of ancient Hebrew minds. The God I believe in is non-denominational. And I have to also remind you that my definition of an evil God (notice the capital "G") is a God who has the power to stop evils that exist that are so depraved such as you or I could never dream possible, and He does absolutely nothing to stop them. Passive evil, the kind God engages in, to me is just as bad as active evil.
Non-denominational? AKA whatever we are free to imagine? All good perhaps? No bad?
Reminds me of a quote I once heard about how our greatest blessings are what doesn't happen to us. Not a God-believing or -fearing person myself, but it's easy to also imagine a God who is actually preventing even greater evil and misfortune to fall upon us. We just don't know what they are. Right?
Perhaps growing impatient, however, given this Coronavirus business She's decided to have us contend with now...
nuances are slippery, lets clear up the confusion.
Its a figure of speech, not literal.
A man who fears god fears nothing.
A man who has no fear of God is afraid of the world.
Just gets more interesting by the post! Or is that confusing?
A man who fears anything fears something, and a man who has no fear is simply lying...
I don't believe in God and I've never feared the world, but no doubt I have certainly feared some people and their way of thinking more than just a little!
