Every time I have a discouraging or self bashing thought, it is most likely from Satan. He loves to make people feel worthless and commit suicide.

So is human thought, your instinct is to think about things. To process them in the CPU of the brain... and decide upon an electrochemical course of action.

Could be from YHWH though, that invisible spirit was very into bashing and shaming and torturing his followers. I've heard Satan is simply there following the orders and allowances of YHWH, The Enemy of humanity, standing as a witness against our entrance into the better worlds.

Yet still, "discouraging and self-bashing thoughts" aren't audible comments specifically and undeniable from a disembodied "entity" about atheists. I'm sure many of us are very glad you are not hearing disembodied voices.

Are you sure it's satan? I thought that Christianity taught you that you are worth no more than filthy rags. It is unfair to blame satan for what your own religion has taught you...Christianity works very hard to destroy it's adherents sense of self worth...That way they can keep you in the flock, and keep those dollars flowing in.

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags;" says Isaiah, "and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." (Isaiah 64:6)

But he doesn't teach the Gospel. I watched a video of him speaking. His goal in preaching is to produce obedience. The problem though, is that obedience is not the Gospel. God wants a changed heart--not obedience. The Gospel is that we are saved by faith in Christ--not living well. I realize to you this may not be a big deal...if I understand correctly, you're not a Christian. To you, it's just semantics....but it's not a small thing. This is a big deal.
You are correct Vizio; we are saved by faith alone in Christ alone, not by works. Eph. 2:8-9; Acts 16:31; Isaiah 64:6; John 3:16.

I suppose it's comforting to toss all your marbles in one hat and not have to worry about actually pondering possibilities.

I suppose....

Doesn't work for me, though, or countless others.

But if you're content in your faith, that's nice.

John 3:16? That who ever believes in him shall follow the law.

Matthew 7:23 - Faith requires works. Matthew 5:18, the law in full and in overconservative interpretation.

Read the Gospels again. Find out what Jesus himself is quoted as saying?

Do you follow Jesus or do you follow Paul?

------------------------------
So, as I expected, the The Bible series is a lying for Jesus propaganda show... they did not depict Jesus chasing the currency exchangers with the whip.

You sure you looked that up right? John 3:16 says nothing like that.

How so? Even the ones that Jesus did not know had fruit. Lack of works wasn't the problem.

Jesus fulfilled the Law. He is the end of the Law for righteousness for anyone that believes. Rom 10:4

He's saying to trust in him. He was lifted up on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

That's a false dichotomy. Paul was commissioned by Jesus.

There are all sorts of problems with the miniseries. That is just one of them.
