I meant to type Romans 1:26, not 27.

The last episode of M.A.S.H got 105.94 million viewers on Feb 28 1983.

I think Raiders of the Lost Ark was the most watched movie in the world and is still one of the highest grossing movies of all time.
I just thought it ironic that a movie about a mystical omniscient, omnipotent, being from a magical land like OZ would be viewed by more than a movie about a book with a similar character. Actually, I believe that the Wizard of Oz tale could almost be a direct analogy of Christianity and many other religions considering the Words came from a man-made fictitious being, when actually the wisdom was obtained from the mind of an experienced and reasoned man.

Indeed.

Actually I've watched the first 2 episodes of the Bible mini-series as I was curious how they would go about it. They made me laugh. Notice how all the 'good guys' look quite anglo/European and the 'baddies' look more semitic or middle eastern? I've seen the promos for the episodes with "Jesus"-he looks like a modern, white, light brown coiffed haired, american male model. If Jesus actually existed as a flesh and blood person from Judea and 'came back' in the 21st century looking as he would have looked then, conservative American evangelicals would probably want to arrest him as a middle-eastern terrorist. They certainly wouldn't be inviting him into their churches.

14 million is quite impressive for primetime Sunday night with all the competition. The super bowl is an unfair comparison as it is viewed worldwide and always commands a massive audience. Let's face it, atheism is still a small minority in this country, and there is still plenty of people who believe in God and are hungry for the gospel. I know that's a reality you don't want to accept.

The Passion of the Christ has grossed over 600 million worldwide. So what's your point?

The point is that no religion is better. What has replaced the mass spectacles of the Olympians is just as pitiful.

Far behind Harry Potter, Batman, Star Wars, Alice In Wonderland, and many other fantasy movies.

Actually its not so impressive considering it followed the promotion by thousands of churches earlier in the day.
Sure, there's still plenty of people who believe in God, but the trend is away from blind belief in mystical beings.

It pulled in about the same ratings as American Idol on a non-major network. Plus many Christians go to church on Sunday night. It is impressive. But of course, atheists just can not acknowledge just one positive thing about Christianity.
