It could be just something like the Royal We as used by Kings and Queens.
It's really a moot point unless you really think that God looks like us humans, dark skinned for the Africans, slanted eyes for the Asians, blue eyes and blond hair for the Scandinavians. Straight hair or kinky fuzz? Hairy beard or scant beard like the Native Americans? Maybe when we can agree on what God really looks like, then maybe we can decide what he meant.
There was no messiah in Genesis, right? So if there was no messiah in Genesis there was only 1 God. I mean the Jews do not believe in the holy trinity, right?
Or am I missing something?
