I would rather not hear anything back at all then a "I'll text you later" or "I'll let you know" and then have them not follow through. It displays weakness and lack of finesse on their part. And if someone literally texts that they are a bad texter, then you can use that to transition into face to face conversation, a date. If they are still flaky or decline, then they are not interested and you can go on to the next woman.
Everywhere I go I see people checking their phones work, grocery store, mall, anywhere- & hours is not enough that I would flip out- but It is unreasonable- Especially when it is someone you know always has their phoen out, checks it every 15 and lunch break, but they didn't get your message. Riiight.
Frequent checking of messages does not mean time to respond to every damned one right away. Get over yourself.
I hate texting. Bad for your fingers, too, I heard. I prefer phone calls.
I'm with you on this.
I just got back into the dating scene and everybody damn texts! Does anyone use the phone anymore? I'm old school and dated pre-cell phones. Damn technology!

Eh, for me it depends. Me and my dude text periodically throughout the day and even though both of us hate talking on the phone, we end up talking almost daily.
I still like texting though. When I'm at work I man the radios and can't stop and chat for 20 minutes, but texting is perfectly fine.
