24 partners for a 30 year old is not very many (that's only 2 a year since age 18) while it's a lot for someone in high school or a freshman/sophomore in college.
Yeah, but you would think there would be some LTRs in there somewhere. Also, the average American is married by 26 years old.
Twenty-four seems to be quite a bit, unless you were from the hippie generation.
Hung out with the hippies...as a kid....all we did was go from one woman to the next and make love...most of them are nameless...some you did not even ask for the name. There were days when you would have sex with more than one person that day...I was just a hick kid coming into the city..I remember how my debauchery started...I was walking along Yorkville Avenue in Toronto..it was the the San Francisco of Canada...a hippy chick came walking up and said "I want to exchange spirits with you"- I did not have a clue what she was talking about...then I found myself having sex.
I was 17...I have lived with woman since then...the last one for 27 years and had four kids...during my 'single' sections of my life - I had affair after affair...I lost count...now I am 62 - the last few years is the first time in my life I have not lived with a woman. You want to know the numbers....I really can not remember. Where as my more conservative older brother can count the woman in his life on two fingers..was it worth it? I am not sure.,.,all I want now is to be in love probably for the first time.....all that sex and never to have been deeply in love---WHAT A LOSER I AM.

I don't necessarily think this is true. Not sure of your age, but todays generation of 26 year olds are marrying later and waiting to have children later as well.
It's expensive. Pay is decreasing. Cost of living is increasing.
I'm sure the fact that a lot of adult "children" are moving back home has also decreased the percentage of marriages as well.
What if what "counted" was: an activity involving at least one other person during which someone had an orgasm? Would that change anyone's numbers?
This would imply that orgasm is required for an act to be considered sex. What about the very high instances of women who have never had an orgasm during intercourse?
But OK; modify it if you must: An activity involving stimulation of one person's genital area by another. Is that general enough?
