No, "normal" would be significantly more than that. Her point was that even if someone only had one new partner per year, which would be on the low end for someone who has any kind of sex life and isn't in a committed long-term relationship, they would still exceed that number.

I'm suspicious of anyone over the age of 25 or so who knows "their number," unless they've been in a monogamous relationship for a long time. "Keeping score" is something young people do, but after a certain age, if you know your number of lifetime sexual partners off the top of your head it tells me you're either pretty inexperienced or you're obsessed with keeping count for some strange reason. I'm no more interested in trying to count up my number of past sex partners than I am the number of people with whom I've shared any other normal human activity.

There is a word for 'having any kind of sex life' I believe its slu_t, or is it who_re? Take your pick. Its not normal none-the less. Anyone who told you it was, back in college, was most likely taking advantage of you.

Wow, really? Someone who has sex with one different person a year is a sl*t or a wh*re? That's absolutely ridiculous.
I would consider one different partner a year to be normal, considering my personal experiences and the experiences of all of the 18-30 year old people I know and hang out with. In fact, most people I know have more than one partner in a year's time.

Than what is a sl*t or wh*re? A new partner every week? Clearly you are living in a different culture than I am.

1950 called. They said to tell you they'd like their world view back.

I'm male, by the way. I'm thinking you may not know this, since horrible a-holes like you normally only use words like that to shame women.

I research human behavior, including sexual behavior, for a living. I know what is normal, and it's not what you seem to think.

Words used by people who aren't getting any to insult people who are.

Don't ask a question if you don't want the answer.
