Been a long time reader, but never posted before. Does anyone in the Cary/Apex area have thoughts on this neighborhood? I found two threads from 2007-2008 highly recommending it, but wanted to see if there's any newer thoughts out there?

How the schools (Salem)? Crime? Lots of families/young children?

I've never heard a negative word.

Mind the flood plain, though.

Great neighborhood, tons of kids. Very convenient, low crime. That area (and ours, several neighborhoods off 55) had a break-in spree this summer, mostly unlocked cars were targeted. Good reminder to be safe anywhere- common sense things. Community pool, limited greenway access (trails don't go anywhere, or connect to anything, yet).

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe some others will chime in. We didn't know much about it because we had mainly seen most houses for sale in Walden, Haddon, etc. The turnover in this neighborhood doesn't seem very high, and public records looks like mostly original owners?

Drees was the builder...right? Friends of ours live there and I think their quality is good for a production builder.

It is like two different projects, with phases of some obvious starter homes under 1700SF and then some near 3000SF.

The flood plane runs on the east side, and there are some houses in in off Templeton Gap.

Yes, I believe Drees did the "custom" homes in the back of the neighborhood so I've been told.

We recently sold, lived in CV for 5 yrs. Wonderful neighborhood, lots of kids, low crime (never heard of any major trouble while we were there). Fall festival, Easter egg hunt, great community. We were in a Drees home on the flood plain. Our land NEVER had flooding and we were there through a few hurricanes and some big storms (think tornados a few years back). If you have any specific ?'s feel free to ask.

It is harder to find a home in CV. They sell fast, ours sold in 48 hours with mulitple offers. I agree, most people buy and don't leave.... there is a reason for that.
