While I am here in Illinois our Nephew is at our place in PC, he called last night and needed an ID of a fish as near as I could tell it was a ladyfish he said 2 1/2 to 3 pounds. Today he called and told my wife that later last night he caught a redfish and a sailcat off the dock using live shrimp.

Last night I arrived home from a 4 day business trip just in time to catch this at Bayshore Live Oak Park, on Charlotte Harbor.

I just never get tired of them.

I'm going to go out and fish the canals and maybe the mouth of alligator creek and the harbor today. The last couple days schools of nice size redfish have been running the canals, and I've had my pole handy! Mostly the schools just swim buy and look like they are eating everything in sight, but they are barely biting. I did have success and caught two nice ones, which I released, and a few really nice mangrove snapper that were following along with them.

Today, unlike most days, WHEN I catch my limit uh-gen , I'm going to keep a few for dinner. I'm hoping to snag a couple good size trout! Can you spell feeesh frie?

No worries! Today I caught a few mangrove snapper while running out alligator creek. Then once in the harbor we caught a few lady fish. Nothing spectacular!

I'm cooling my heels in Fort Myers this week, waiting for our house in PGI to close. I haven't bought a house in 10 years, and I didn't realize how lucky I was-it's like trying to get permission to build a nuclear reactor. Anyways, if the Winners of the Great Harbor Shootout are ready for their payoff, I'm available almost anytime.
