I am neither, but I really enjoyed this play about the life of Johnny Cash. I think anyone who appreciates music would, as it is the most musical of musicals, with a live band as the onstage co-stars. Ten guitarists strumming and singing “I’ve Been Everywhere” is something to see and hear. Also, keep your eye on John Marshall and his upright bass; this guy has the "it" factor in spades. WILL DANCE FOR FOOD
Professional dance companies from across Florida will perform a program of contemporary dance, not for a song or a pricey ticket but for a donated bag of unexpired, nonperishable goods. The proceeds from the Dance for Food performances are distributed to food pantries on the Treasure Coast and the Palm Beaches. The annual event hosted by Artists for a Cause has raised over 6,000 meals for families in a single performance. Treasure Coast shows are 4 p.m. Sunday at The Kane Center in Stuart; 4 p.m. Nov. 13 at Sunrise Black Box Theatre in Fort Pierce; and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at South Fork High School, Stuart. BUNKHOUSE COFFEE BAR
New Jensen Beach resident Kelly Adams has transformed an old World War II bunkhouse into a coffeehouse, which she aptly named BunkHouse Coffee Bar to incorporate its history. BunkHouse is at 3181 N.E. West End Blvd. in Jensen Beach and will have its grand opening 5:30 p.m. Friday with half-price espresso drinks, Adams said.
“We’re going to focus on the healthier foods, organic coffee, smoothie, acai bowls, gluten free and vegan baked goods,” said Adams, who is a vegan. “My whole brand is about organic and having a healthy spin on delicious treats.”
Adams also operates the mobile cafe The Coffee Girlz, which she will continue to manage. Her boyfriend, Jeff Blake, who is a professional polo player in Wellington, is her business partner on both ventures.

Fans of Tequesta-based 3 Natives will no longer have to make the drive to get fresh juices, acai bowls and wraps.
A 3 Natives franchise is scheduled to open Saturday in Stuart inside BodyRock, said franchise owner Mary Miller, who also owns the fitness studio.The restaurant and studio are located at 870 S.E. Indian Street in the Willoughby Crossing Shopping Center. Miller hopes the restaurant will be ready to open Saturday, which is also when BodyRock holds its "grande opening." The studio, which opened last November, will have 30-minute demo classes from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
“It’s a combination of workout and proper nutrition, which is really a win-win situation,” Miller said.

“NATURE CONNECTS: ART WITH LEGO BRICKS”

Where: McKee Botanical Garden, 350 U.S. 1, Vero Beach Beginning Nov. 5, larger-than-life sculptures made from thousands of Legos will take over the 18-acre tropical landscape for a second time in nearly two years.
“We couldn’t be more excited,” said Christine Hobart, McKee’s executive director about the return of the award-winning exhibit “Nature Connects: Art with Lego Bricks” by artist Sean Kenney. After mesmerizing children and adults in January 2015, 12 new sculptures (and a building station) help make up 14 different displays, using half a million Legos.

FUN IN THE DARK
Finding your way through the giant corn maze at Countryside Citrus, 6325 81st St. in Vero Beach is a good time. But after dark, it’s twice as challenging and twice as fun.
The corn crib, barnyard ball zone and other activities will be under lights but the giant maze will be in the dark from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Friday. Grab your flashlights and charge up the smart phones, then try to find your way. The maze is open Saturday and Sunday through Nov. 20 but this is the last flashlight night. Admission is $10.

THE PINEAPPLE FESTIVAL in JENSEN BEACH

The Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society is paying tribute Sunday afternoon to the late David Shelley, a life-long blues rock musician, who spent the end of his career performing around South Florida. The jazz society will kick things off at 1 p.m. and then Shelley’s band, Bluestone, takes the stage from 3 to 5 p.m. for this free concert at 101 Melody Lane in downtown Fort Pierce.
FULL MOON AT PERIGEE
For me, the term “supermoon” became over-used in a hurry but scientists agree, this weekend’s perigree moon (the scientific term we used up until about five years ago) should be something to see.
Although it is the third perigree moon this fall, this weekend’s full moon will be closer to Earth than any other since 1948. Once the moon, which will be 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter, is high in the sky, it’s difficult to tell it’s any different than any other full moon. The key is to check it out while it’s close to the horizon. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the moonrise is 5:10 p.m. Sunday and 6:01 p.m.Monday. Grab the bug spray and head to the beach or go for a paddle and check it out. It won’t happen again until 2034.

It’s a winter wonderland at Riverside Theatre's 19th annual Festival of Trees this weekend at the Vero Beach campus at 3250 Riverside Park Drive.
The event, which is Riverside Children’s Theatre’s largest benefit to support programming and scholarships, features decorated Christmas trees, a synthetic ice skating rink, performances by local choirs, holiday shopping and Santa.
Breakfast with Santa events for Saturday and Sunday already are sold out but the fun continues with the festival’s showcase 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Also from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, it’s Family Night with entertainment, free pizza and other giveaways. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids younger than 12. ENJOY FALL FESTIVAL, BONSAI TRIBUTE
Find great prices on plants, herbs and flowers at Heathcote Botanical Gardens’ 29th annual Fall Festival on Saturday and Sunday at 210 Savannah Road in Fort Pierce.
The festival is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and will have plant and flower vendors, garden supplies, garden arts and crafts, children’s activities, refreshments, demonstrations and more.
A special exhibit will be in the Bonsai Gallery paying tribute to bonsai master James J. Smith, who died in June. This is a chance to catch a glimpse of Smith’s private collection of bonsai, pottery and photography.

TAKE FAMILY TO HARVEST FESTIVAL
The 52nd annual family friendly St. Helen's Harvest Festival returns this weekend to Historic Dodgertown, 3901 26th St., east of 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach.
Festival hours are noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
St. Helen Catholic Church parishioners provide more than 25 games and drawings, along with festival food including fried dough, corn on the cob, chicken and steak sandwiches and sausage.
Throughout the year, women from the church create crafts to sell at The Lady Bug Boutique during the festival. Crafters create specialty items, including knitted and crocheted baby items, blankets, pillows, dolls and holiday decorations.
Admission and parking are free but tickets need to be purchased for rides and are $1 each.

RACE MOUNTAIN BIKES
Club Scrub is hosting a mountain bike race Saturday for all levels of riders at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, 16450 S.E. U.S. 1 in Hobe Sound. Ask at the gate for Camp Murphy.
The club is a nonprofit organization that promotes off-road bicycling and the race is a part of its Challenge Series Night Time Trials, which also is also open to nonmembers.
The first race is for young kids and starts at 4:30 p.m., followed at 5 p.m. with races for kids 12 and older and 11 and younger. The adult race starts at 6:30 p.m., and a helmet and lights are required.
Advance race entry fees range from $15 for young kids to $45 for adults, and if you register online at Club Scrub - Jonathan Dickinson State Park Bike Trails before Saturday, you’ll also get a free dinner, water bottle and event shirt. Thanksgiving is in less than a week, and if you are looking for family-friendly activities over the Thanksgiving weekend, the Smithsonian Exhibit at the St. Lucie County Aquarium is the place to be.
The popular “Aquarium After Dark” program is from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 25 , followed by an opportunity to have hands-on, feet-wet fun in the Indian River Lagoon at “Saturday Seining in the Seagrasses” from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 26.
“The Aquarium is a completely different place at night,” said Jasmine Fox, marine biology educator at the Smithsonian. “We see amazing nocturnal animals, like the waving tentacles of spaghetti worms and fluorescent green corals.”
Arrive at 5:45 p.m. as the program begins at 6 p.m. Pizza is served on the tables outside and guests will enjoy a brief presentation on nocturnal ocean life. Following the presentation, visitors venture into the aquarium to explore the tanks with special flashlights. Aquarium After Dark is recommended for ages six and older. The cost is $12 for adults and $10 for children. Aquarium members can get discounts. If you have family visiting from out of town, this is a great way to spend quality time together and showcase our wonderful area.

The Smithsonian Exhibit in the St. Lucie County Aquarium is at 420 Seaway Drive on South Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce.
This program invites families to discover life in the Indian River Lagoon seagrass beds such as juvenile fishes, crabs and maybe even seahorses. The program begins with a brief presentation inside the aquarium, followed by a seine-netting lesson before entering the water to collect critters. All participants must wear clothing that can get wet and water shoes with heel straps. This program is recommended for ages six and older. The cost is $6 for adults and $5 for children and includes aquarium admission. Aquarium members can get discounts. Following the program, participants are welcome to join the 10:30 a.m. feeding tour inside the aquarium. Advance registration for both programs is required as space is limited.

Garden of Lights
Black Friday marks the start of Heathcote Botanical Gardens’ second annual Garden of Lights, which runs Friday and Saturday nights from Thanksgiving through New Year’s.
For the holiday illumination, tens of thousands of LED lights are handcrafted into hundreds of flowers and arranged in displays throughout the Fort Pierce gardens.
The hours are from 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays except for the week of Christmas Eve when the display will be open Thursday and Friday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger.
This year, there will be more displays, holiday music, food and Santa. There also will be a S’mores Station and giant Heathcote the Bear. Tree lightings Vero Beach and Stuart the kick off the holiday season Friday night with their annual tree lightings.
In Vero Beach, the tree lighting is a part of the monthly Downtown Friday street party from 6 to 9 p.m. along 14th Avenue in historic Downtown Vero Beach. The Wiley Nash Band will perform and Santa is expected to pay a visit. The Salvation Army also will be collecting unwrapped toys for theAngel Tree project.
Before the music and dancing starts, burn off calories from the pumpkin pie at the Family Friendly Bike Ride, which meets at 4:30 p.m. in the City of Vero parking lot across from Jetson’s Electronics. Helmets are required.

St. Lucie County Christmas Boat Parade: 6:30-9:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Harbortown Marina and Taylor Creek, proceeds past the South Beach Causeway turning around westward at the Fort Pierce Inlet and ends at the Fort Pierce City Marina and Tiki restaurant .The public is invited to enjoy viewing the parade boats at restaurants, parks and other locations along the route.
