$2.5 Billion? Cool.

Medicare Fraud Enforcement Efforts Recovered $2.5 Billion In 2009

Medicare Fraud Enforcement Efforts Recovered $2.5 Billion In 2009

WASHINGTON — The government says it recovered $2.5 billion in overpayments for the Medicare trust fund last year as the Obama administration focused attention on fraud enforcement efforts in the health care industry.

Investigators have new tools this year to help crack down on health care fraud, with the Justice Department and the Health and Human Services Department working cooperatively to police companies. The newly enacted Affordable Care Act is designed to lengthen prison sentences in criminal cases and the new law provides an additional $300 million over the next 10 years for stronger enforcement. It also gives the government new authority to step up oversight of companies participating in Medicare and Medicaid.

They pay the fraudulent claims first, then they spend a bunch more to track them down.
Hooray?

Wow. That will really help pay for that $3.2 trillion Obamacare plan now. Can we say "drop in the bucket"?

The Obama administration does not have the will to go after the real medicare fraud that is happening, as it is at the hands of many of his big donors. It is a universal joke among physicians (and common knowledge) that in Dade County, Flordia the number of "patients" billed for HIV treatment is equal to the entire population of the county. Why nothing done? The perpetrators are HUGE democratic party donors and will never be touched.

If real medicare fraud enforcement could have happened, it would have happened 10-15 years ago. Dream on. Meanwhile, our Lord Barry has blown an additional $3.2 trillion on healthcare and created another avenue of fraud for his criminal associates. Thank you, Lord Barry.
