I think its the supporters of this health care bill, that support slavery....

this bill MANDATES that you BUY health insurance...., either private or government option...this bill will make EVERYONE a SLAVE to the insurance companies

Not all. I became so disillusioned with the Dems, I became an Independent. Frankly, neither party is listening to us. They are both in bed with big business, and are selling this country to the highest bidder. With a few exceptions, I’m disgusted with the entire lot. I hear what they say, but base my opinion on how they actually vote on issues. If they fail to represent by best interests, and those of the citizens of this country, I don’t care who they are, they won’t get my vote.

From the linked article:
Quote:
The Nevada Democrat, in a sweeping set of accusations on the Senate floor, also compared health care foes to those who opposed women's suffrage and the civil rights movement -- even though it was Sen. Strom Thurmond, then a Democrat, who unsuccessfully tried to filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and it was Republicans who led the charge against slavery.
Amazing how Fox News spins it to be all about partisan politics and nothing about what Reid was addressing -- the bigger issue of being on the moral side of historic legislation.....and how the righties on the board followed Fox like the good little sheep they are.

It was demeaning slander. Forget right/left. No politician should be calling those with differing opinions akin to those who supported slavery.

Name calling is nothing more than desperation and fear tactics.
If you have a good, solid bill, defend it rather than call the opposing side names.
