Oh stop being a prude. It's not like I went over there and mooched off their system, littered, or stole anything. I spent money there. And I certainly didn't act like many of the arrogant "I'm an American!" tourists I had the misfortune of meeting.
Apparently you did.
You didn't follow the rules and had to be reprimanded.
Apparently other Americans did the same.
When you are a guest in another country, you follow their rules.
Otherwise, you are one of those "other" Americans.

No, I wasn't one of those "other" Americans. The key difference is their rudeness was parasitic, whereas my rule-breaking was victimless (unless you mean abstractly). I don't go to other countries and whine about not having 24 hour fast food or no Subway or ice (oh, how I'm tired of hearing people complain about not having ice in their drinks) or any of the other petty crap people complain about. In fact, I actually enjoy not having a lot of that stuff.
Getting back to the topic of the thread, the only point I was trying to make is that not everyone wants to buy into your game and I wish--I sincerely wish--you'd try to respect that.

Reason: clarity
You entered into a contract with the tour of a historical site.
You did not live up to the terms of the contract.
So your behavior wasn't "as bad as" those "other" Americans.
Interesting justification.
Chielgirl, it was all a metaphor. Just think about it for a moment in the context of the thread and it should make sense.
Look, if you seriously want to discuss or debate my behavior there in another thread or via PM fine, but I think it would be going way off topic to do so in this thread.

Yup, I would call it the old-" I'm not quite as bad"--syndrome

Oh no the behavior police are out!
I better watch out on my trip to Spain next year... when Im in wine country I was planning to run out into the vineyards pick off a bucket full of grapes and throw them at all the locals.....AHAHAHAHHAH...
Apparently, the dude doesn't comprehend the concept of "contracts".
On occasion, I've even stopped at red lights in the middle of the night only to drive through them after noticing noone was around. I even break the speed limit routinely. Ready to hang me from the gallows yet?
The hypocrisy of the left and right apparently knows no bounds.
