Whites did build this country. Weren't the people who were responsible for building America white? If you think not, then what were they? If you think "white" is something that refers to modern day white Americans only you're wrong. Whites came from Europe where ALL ancestors of the white race came from. Weren't the colonials that came here European white people? So again, if it wasn't white people who built this country, who did?

It is when your President's economic, foreign policy, and healthcare initiatives are indefensible.

Generally speaking when one guy, in this case a rather prominent commentator makes a controversial statement it enters into the category of news, just because it isn't one of your guys to pick on the commentary doesn't make it any less of a story.

Sort of like when Bush was floundering and Fox was defending Christmas?

As I recall, most Lefties were pooh-poohing that all to hell as irrelevant to the real crises affecting the nation.

Stuff going around. Now stuff coming around.

Maybe you should watch the clip, because that IS what Pat Buchanan says.

Here's what Buchanan said, in reference to why affirmative action was a bad program.

“Well, I think white men were 100 percent of the people that wrote the Constitution, 100 percent of the people that signed the Declaration of Independence, 100 percent of people who died at Gettysburg and Vicksburg. Probably close to 100 percent of the people who died at Normandy…This has been a country built basically by white folks in this country who are 90 percent of the entire nation-in 1960, when I was growing up, Rachel-and the other 10 percent were African-American who had been discriminated against. That's why."

And what Maddow pointed out in response are the many significant contributions and sacrifices made by people who were not white in the building of this country.
