Why do you think that is? He could have financed his war machine indefinetly! Oh yeah.. There were automatic weapons in each residence! It wasnt just terrain, he invaded Russia during the winter which was a far more difficult proposition. Why do liberals mention Europe in general, but never Switzerland specifically?

As a matter of fact all civilian homes in Switzerland are required to keep just that- a fully automatic weapon- in their homes so long as at least one male of military age resides there.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the Swiss Alps WAS the main reason he didn't invade and that fact that they managed to maintain their neutrality and didn't take sides through out the war.
