Right to marry? You tell me where that right comes from and I'll be the first to change my opinion. If you cant tell me where that right comes from, your still entitled to your opinion, even if its wrong..

Well, they're claiming that they issued 18,000 licenses to same sex couples... So that's 36,000 people in total.

It would make sense that the marriages would be converted to domestic partnerships.

When I was married last August, you could apply for a "Marriage" or "Domestic Partnership". My license had only "Party A" and "Party B" - because they were for either type of couple to marry - same sex or hetero and so they removed the "groom" "bride" designation on the license.

Funny thing happened the day my husband and I applied for our license - the state computers went down to issue licenses and there were about 8 same sex couples who were attempting to apply for a license on the day the system failed. There were gay guys who thought it was A PERSONAL attack on them being GAY that the system would fail and they couldn't get a license on that day. Nevermind that there were heterosexual couples who were also there to apply for a license to marry. One guy pushed past me and stomped ahead after everyone standing in line for the computers to "go back up" told him they weren't issuing licenses because the system was down.

Gotta admit this sets an interesting precedent for mangling the constitution via popular vote. I can't really blame the judges, it's what the system in the state allows for. Based on what I read from the decision it's really "our constitution allows this why the hell are you still letting it do that?"

marriage isn't a right. if it is, then it discriminates against couples who choose to live together without signing a contract with the devil, which in this case is the government.

So we can take the next leap that marrying multiple spouses a right, even child pedophila with a consenting child is a right. No, I'm not attempting to link gays with pedophilia, but hey, often times the child consents.

p.s. did you just try to proclaim "creator" gave gays rights to marry? i.e. GOD?

the sheeple were easily intimidated by the evildoings of the mormon church. they didn't get the opportunity to rationally think about what they were doing when they voted for the H8. If put on the ballot again, I predict that Prop H8 will be overturned once the voters have had a chance to digest the information free of religious homophobic propoganda. It is only a matter of time.
