I have to laugh that the democrats say such things but the revere such people as Teddy kennedy and even J F Kennedy who actaully conspired with the mob to attempt to assinate A foreign leader;Castro. That doesn't speak very well for their being unbiased.Afterall its how up to their president Obama whether to prosecute;plain and simple.I say get on with it and stop the rethoric.
if you truly believe that statement, then obama needs to be prosecuted for his past drug use, fdr for keeping the USA in a depression and getting the USA into WWII, lincoln for not following the Constitution, wilson for his outright socialist activities and a whole slew of other things done by each and every president.
If we could start with the Bush crowd, that would be a great first step!
it was never about monica ever.
bill messed with DOD, bill messed with AMA.
2 biggest kids on the block.
mr obama has many enemies he proceeds with caution, i like it.
Its people like you making stupid comments like this which keeps me in the Republican party. Is this the best you could do? Really?
About as stupid as the title of this thread because it ignores the fact that DEMOCRATS are the party that would have been responsible for Impeaching Bush... They after all hold Congress
Remember: Former President Ronald Reagan and Vice President George H.W. Bush sold weapons to the Ayatollah and were not impeached.
..No they didn't . The Ayatollah are not a group of people that weapons can be sold to, it is a title given to professors of Islam. Much in the same way we have Masters or Doctorates in different studies, Ayatollah is the title for those who studied Islam and are a part of the clergy.
I remember the Iran-Contra affair, but Reagan was never linked to the weapons sales. However, there is a deeper issue here.. Not only were Americans being taken hostage left and right, but Iran and Iraq were at war. Since the 1979 hostage crisis Iran became an enemy of the US after the overthrow of the Shah, so we supported none other than Saddam Hussein in his war against Iran by giving him weapons (including WMDs).
Later, high ranking individuals in the Reagan administration supplied forces rebelling against Ayatollah Khomeini, the man behind the 1979 hostage crisis. In return, several American hostages were released by the Hezbollah. For those of you playing connect the dots, having a friendly government installed at Iran after the death of Khomeini played into the bigger picture of the Cold War with the Soviet Union.
Oliver North went behind Reagan's back and sold weapons directly to Iran as opposed to going through Israel. The only problem was that hostages were never released after the direct weapons sales that cut out the middle man who had previously negotiated with Hezbollah.
Overall, the portion of the scandal in the Middle East is far more important than the Contras of Central America, because it sets the stage for the current situation in Afghanistan and Iraq. As for H.W. Bush, I have never heard of him being involved with Iran or Ayatollah Khomeini, the war between Iran and Iraq was already over when he took office.
Hope I got all the facts right, it is kind of late..
..And by the way, Bill Clinton outdid both Bush and Reagan when it came to weapons sales. However, he did a much better job of covering it up, as he had direct control over the transactions, unlike Reagan. Americans presidents have always been some of the biggest arms dealers in the world, dating back to WWI, the movie 'Lord of War' gives you an idea of what the 80s and early 90s were like in that particular sector.

sanrene, you should know by now that when you ask a liberal for facts, you'll always get an opinion, and not just the posters opinion, but someone elses opinion, and their opinion of course will be based not on facts, but of course someone elses opinion.
Its what keeps liberals together, the ability to listen to an opinion and repeat it as facts, even though its dead wrong..
