I can’t believe Zelenskyy isn’t on board with the Musk peace agreement. Only concessions were Crimea(which Russia controls anyway), and holding UN sanctioned votes in the contested eastern areas?
It’s also interesting to see that right after Russia started losing badly, suddenly a ton of posts started popping up on every social media, saying that we need peace talks immediately, because of course we can’t let Russia lose, because then it’s nuclear war, or even worse, that “Ukraine can’t win anyway, so let’s just surrender now, and stop the mindless killing” like Musk did today.
Do people really not see what state Russian army is in? Like no, the “full mobilization” won’t help them win, people they will be mobilizing are not professional soldiers, and the mandatory military service in Russia is a joke, it only teaches you how to build dachas for your superiors and clean toilets, not how to be an effective soldier.
A son of one of our relatives from Russia literally had to make his family pay monthly ransom to his superiors at the place he was going through his mandatory service, just so that they won’t cripple or even kill him. I’m pretty sure that happened because he bragged to them about his family being wealthy, but do you see just how dysfunctional their “reserves” are?

Musk had no agreement he was just armchairing on Twitter he hadn't even spoke to Putin. You think Putin is going to allow the UN to run elections in the areas he just annexed.

I know he was armchairing but Zelenskyy actually responded. I’m surprised and concerned that even small concessions are off the table.

Because there needs to be some kind of end that isn’t endless war or nuclear war. They should remain willing to take the diplomatic route. There are some very pro-Russian areas of the country that it may make sense to concede for peace.
Remember the public was itching for war after 9/11, 80%+ of the public wanted war. By the end of the war less than 20% supported it. Iraq was the biggest mistake of the century. Don’t get caught up in mass outrage of the moment, you’ll likely regret it.
