If he actually has the audacity to send troops there, like formally and in bulk (not just as 'advisors' and 'trainers'), you can probably count on all of us winding up dead. It'll quickly escalate.

Absolutely correct. Money and war materiel won't save Ukraine when they are running out of troops. They may not even make it to the end of summer. I think that Biden wants to prolong the war until after the November presidential election when he is safely ensconced back in the White House (he hopes). After that, Ukraine can fall apart and the Ukrainians will be scapegoated for not fighting well enough despite being given tons of money and weapons.

The only way that Ukraine has a shadow of a chance at winning this war is US or NATO boots on the ground. A couple hundred thousand at least, with accompanying air power and more naval assets in the Black and Baltic Seas.

Very likely.

They do need troops, but the war will continue even without troops.
The Russian Black Sea fleet is being destroyed with virtually no loss to Ukraine. Refined oil production is down 14% in Russia, also with no loss of life to Ukraine.
In order to play the game the way Russia is, Ukraine needs thousands and thousands of troops - I suppose that's why they are not playing it that way.

Ukraine was supposedly taking money and resources to build a line of defense on Kharkov's border. We heard previously that much of the money went to shell companies, because Ukraine is a highly corrupt country.

Now we have confirmation within the Ukrainian military that Russian forces were able to simply walk across the border there where the US specifically spent resources and money to fortify.

Guys, this is all the reason to throw more money into the meat grinder!

Our lovely CIA director had warned Zelensky that he and his oligarchs needed to steal less of our aid.

Hey, CIA, I know of another border that is not defended, but it's here at home!

Right now, Russia is having success with their glide bombs. They are good at destroying trenches. Ukraine needs some F16s to counter Russian aircraft. And Biden to quit telling them they can't use US equipment against Russian attacks coming from Russian territory. Biden is even more stupid than LBJ who tied US troops hands in Vietnam costing us thousands of lives (without even getting into whether we should have been there in the first place).

This is where I disagree with you. Russia would have no problem defeating the rainbow forces of NATO and the US. Lots of casualties on both sides but Russian weaponry is superior.

I did say that Ukraine has a shadow of a chance if NATO enters the fray. Certainly not a guarantee. But the most serious impediment to the US is the prepositioning of forces that would be required. Months of preparation. I think that the war would be over by the time that the US would be ready anyway. And yes, I also think that the Russian weaponry is superior to whatever NATO has, and in the production of ammunition as well.

Just ONE US Ohio-class submarine can annihilate most of Russia.
