This will end with the Ukraine giving up the territory it already lost to Russia. A bloody and battered post war Ukraine will then enter NATO (if Turkey gets all the goodies it wants), and the newly acquired Russian territory will be lined with S-300 and 400 surface-to-air defense systems.

Most likely you are correct. I have to wonder if the little territory that Russia gains is worth the life, material and money that they paid for it.

It's not about the territory and never was.

Whatever you think its for, I have to wonder if its worth the 100s of thousands of casualties, the 1000s of vehicles, 100s of air vehicles, all the money and resources that was spent.

It depends.

Since as I've said it was never about the territory, if the result of Russian victory will be just acquirement of those territories - no, it was not worth it.
But if this war will bring the collapse of the current regime - then yes, it was worth it.

You mean the Putin regime. Yes, it would be worth it.

Actually I would hope for the end of both regimes - Putin's and Zelensky's alike, since they are two peas in a pod.

But we'll see.

And yet only one of those peas invaded another country and is directly responsible for who knows how many dead on both sides.

Are we going to play this game all over again?

I think not, since you still didn't answer my question, why accepting defeat from Americans was a good thing for Russians.
