Okay, just to clarify -- I do NOT think that the flag is a symbol of hate. I am just acknowledging the fact that SOME people think so -- and as I said, I think that is very sad. This is what I wrote, bold added.

I'd even argue this is a desecration, too; given it's politicizing the flag to support the police (thin blue line). I pledged allegiance to the flag and "the republic for which it stands", not to law enforcement.
