The New York Times was ripped on Saturday for publishing a piece that suggested the American flag has become a symbol of divisiveness.
"Today, flying the American flag from the back of a pickup truck or over a lawn is increasingly seen as a clue, albeit an imperfect one, to a person’s political affiliation in a deeply divided nation," the Times tweeted on Saturday, with a link to their piece, "A Fourth of July Symbol of Unity That May No Longer Unite."
In the piece, author Sarah Maslin Nir quotes a few individuals who believe that the flag has become so politicized that they now think twice about flying it outside their homes or businesses. Some people, for instance, have been hiding their patriotic pride in Old Glory after former President Trump's supporters, and conservatives in general, "have embraced the flag so fervently."
This article and the concept it embraces is total BULL CRAP and decisive on it's own!
Shame on the nyt for publishing this garbage
Every one of the homes on my street, and two connectors (about 11/2 miles, EVERY HOME, Republicans, demoncrats, blacks, whites, Hispanics, Nepalese,) PROUDLY FLY THE FLAG --EVERY SINGLE HOME
[QUOTE4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity."
5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."][/quote]
talk about over playing your hand.....now they are all trying to out "offended" each other
...when all they are really doing is offending everyone else....and massively turning people off
It’s cute you think that. What do all of the signs and rhetoric point to? A post-American world. A post- religious world. A world without differences. A magic place with lots of fairies and high priest and priestess who all let us know what is acceptable and what is not.
If them feeling the moral authority to indoctrinate children and their purging of dissidents isn’t enough to know what is happening I don’t know how to make it any more clear. They’re conditioning you, not feigning outrage or making some symbolic gesture. What is their overwhelming and overarching narrative? What laws and political moves are they backing?
Federalize Police
Federalize Elections
Indoctrinate Children
Purge Dissidents in Academia in the Name of DIE
Propagandizing of the Mass Media
Packing the Court
Now Purging Dissidents in Government and the Military in the Name of DIE
Obama just came out and said Trump broke democratic norms. What didn’t he say? Why didn’t he mention that they started purging dissidents out of academia a decade ago? They’re not doing all this because of Jan. 6th. They were carrying out the “war of position” for the better part of a decade before Jan. 6th. Then MAGA got in the way and scared them so they did something about it. Now they’re more determined than ever to make a post-American world.

A person's political affiliation? Like... that you're a citizen of the USA???? Duh.
God, how brain dead can these absolute LOONS get?
If your own nation's flag is alienating to you, perhaps applying for residency somewhere else might be in order. Someplace where the flag doesn't trigger you, maybe?

Yes, those that love our nation and what it stands for and those that don't.
The NY Times is now no longer worthy to even start a fire with let alone wipe you butt with.
Although I am definitely NO fan of the NYT -- in fact I hate how biased it has become -- I am not going to fault them for telling the truth.
The very sad fact is that to some people, the flag is divisive -- and some people do view it as a symbol of white supremacists and hate.
BULL
America, love it or leave it!
God Bless America
