Anti-sodomy laws really did affect lives before 2003

Nowadays, I keep seeing conservatives making the argument that anti sodmy laws did not matter because they were not enforced. Here is an example of a guy who got convicted under such law in Idaho back in the 90s and served 7 years in prison. And after he got out Montana fought tooth and nail to keep him on the sex offender registry for having consensual sex.
Note that the age did not matter. They put him away for 7 years under the sodomy law of the state at the time.
As I have been saying for years, conservatives are the biggest hypocrites alive. They yell out personal freedom but for decades they fought tooth and nail to criminalize personal freedom of gay people.
All conservatives are disgustingly bigots.
The irony of this too, is abortion became legal in 1973, under the ruling “a woman’s body, a woman’s choice.” Ironically, when this argument was used by gay activists to overturn sodomy laws, the conservatives fought rigorously to keep them in force, which were primarily aimed at homosexual men. Today, in 2021 despite being overturned in 2003, 30 years after Roe vs. Wade, Michigan, Texas and Louisiana still enforce these laws.
Note, to be convicted of sodomy, typically cops proposition suspected gay men, offering them “to go back to their place”. That’s all it takes to be arrested.
If we are holding politicians who slept with underage girls back in the 60s or 70s accountable today, and judging them on TODAYs standards and laws...why are we not going after police and others, who went after homosexuals so aggressively in recent decades? (is it not the same thing?)
If you heard of a cop from the 1970s that arrested a homosexual man for 'sodomy'...why should they not be judged by todays standards too? Shouldnt they have known better, even back then?!
No man has a right to have sex with another man in his intestines. It's abominable.
Then please don't indulge in such awful sex. Just because a man happens to have big cute brown puppy dog eyes and big muscles doesn't mean you must have sex with him. If you're not ever guilty of engaging in such disgusting hypocrisy, then fine!
