Would they be far left punks or far right punks?
Most Americans aren't punks, but they fall into the same divisions.
Which middle-aged, middle-class groups would do the whooping?
The Millennials and post-Millennials are now the largest age group in the nation. Do they fall into the same divisions as the Baby Boomers or the punks?
Just who, among all these age and demographic groups want to go to shooting at each other?
How many of us would far rather seek our traditional political solutions to our problems instead of resorting to open warfare as our solution?
What about our minority populations?
Combined, our minorities now make up the majority of our citizens, yet they each remain separate entities with less in common with each other than our traditional white former majority. Are they divided along their own lines, or do they follow the white divisions?
What about our differing religions and faiths? They tend to cross all the boundaries of everything mentioned above. Which side will our different faiths align? (Consider that some do not believe in war at all when you do.)
What about all our citizens who don't want to go to war with each other, and would depend on our common federal government to protect them if a civil war was imminent?
So what would a civil war actually look like here if one was to break out? Who's going to align with whom, and how will they line up?
What will our existing unified government have to say about a civil war? Where and how would our armed forces at all levels align? (We have 3 different levels at least- federal, state, and local law enforcement.)
Answer these questions. Until they are all answered, I doubt a civil war will ever come.
No civil war, no foreign occupation afterward.
