What did Obama say now? Oh yeah, "Elections have consequences".

Yep. And again, IF Trump could be trusted (he can't) to only make a very generic speech about America and keep it completely politics free, it wouldn't be quite as bad.

But I'm almost certain that ol' Donny will go off script and make a few political comments, because his ego won't be able to pass up the opportunity.

Per usual, it's all about Donny, all the time. He loves this stuff, he lives for the spotlight. Shame his base truly believe that he cares about them. No wonder Trump loves the uneducated.

They've all made speeches, does it matter where? Whether it's at the mall or the WH....

We're discussing whether it's proper for Trump to be giving a speech on the National Mall (the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to be specific) on July 4. And you claim that it is something that all American presidents have done. Then when it's pointed out to you that you are wrong you say it doesn't make any difference where he gives the speech.

You don't understand. The Fourth is on a Thursday. Trump will be at one of his resorts by the weekend, where he will play golf and endlessly watch Fox.

The Fourth is just an excuse to shove himself on the American people, and attempt to gain as much attention as possible, though it will most likely be a ratings bust. A chance to have a campaign rally with what he believes is a ready-made audience (it's not).

The 4th of July is meaningless to Trump--an excuse to talk about himself and his victimhood. That's all. Then on to the real weekend playing golf.

The left will find something to complain about....hell, not to long ago, they could not find something to complain about his WW2 speech, until after it was done.....then they found something...as miniscual as it was...it lasted in the press for a few days....

Just think if trump would make a speech in front of russian war ships....oh...crap wait......

"Pooping heir britches with glee"? My, you are one for hyperbole aren't you? Sorry, but I'm neither a Democrat nor a Liberal. I'm simply a middle of the road Moderate who will enjoy seeing the balloon effigy of our President paraded through the capitol. Frankly, it's amusing as hell, especially as he has basically commandeered the celebration for his own purposes.
