Obviously, any heterosexual couple that is caring for children in the foster care system will have undergone extensive background checks and training. Traditional role models, in this case, refer to one stable and loving mother and one stable and loving father. These aren't the kind of people who are 'responsible for the huge number of children who are in the foster care system to begin with.' Frankly, that is an absurd contention.
ANY couple that has been licensed as foster parents has undergone extensive background checks and training.
Or are you suggesting otherwise?

Not at all, and neither am I questioning the ability of the lesbian couple to physically care for the baby. What I am suggesting is that any child would fare better psychologically in a mom and pop family setting, so I agree with the judge's ruling and believe that the baby will be healthier for it - that's all.

The left? I'm pro life so I support those who are willing and able to take in the unwanted children.
Which is different from the reasoning by the left. I applaud those able to take kids who have been dumped into the system myself, I just find hypocrisy loathsome.

Didn't say different. Just pointing out that even mormons in good standing in utah are not uniformly opposed to gay parental rights.
My apologies here. In everyone of these kinds of topics it seems it gets blamed on the Mormons (yes, that is a bit of a generalization) and mine was a knee jerk reaction to that.
In this rare instance it's actually relevant, so I'm sorry.
