The fact that Islam thinks this is a just punishment and anyone reading this thread is sympathetic to radical islam should at the least have thier head examined.
If you agree and support the rights of barbarism you should be locked up forever.
That's the action of your Saudi allies. "Islam" doesn't think things as it's not a person. It's not a unified religion with a central governing body either.
If you want to criticize what goes on in Saudi Arabia I suggest you write your Congressman or Senator and urge them to do something, since your country has close ties with them.
I think people really need to get over the clock issue. It really wasn't about the kid building clock or English teacher mistaking it for bomb (those are common mistakes that can happen by adults or kids). Its what happened after that is the issue.
why didn't the school evacuate the building including evacuating Ahmed with his peers
Why didn't bomb squad come and check the device in school while all the kids were out like they do when bomb threat phone calls.
If the bomb squad found the clock to be safe they could have given it back to Ahmed or left it at office for him to pick up end of the day without letting him know he is the cause of the evacuation. No one would know about this and it would be another day.
But instead of following safety procedure the school decided to assume Ahmed is guilty before proving anything & arrested and made a big mess.
No one cares that he made a clock. What made most people mad is the image of Ahmed in handcuff & being questioned by cops and suspended for crime he didn't do. It is perfectly logical for teacher to be worried but its not acceptable to assume a kid is terrorist when they had the ability to verify his information quickly. Someone just decided it wasn't worth following safety protocol

He was arrested for making an object that resembled a bomb, thus creating a hoax. The picture of him in handcuffs was taken by his sister, when his father made the cops leave him in handcuffs so they could get the picture.
Recent US embarrassments, such as the disastrous nuclear deal with Iran, really begin to make sense when you see how ridiculously easy it is to fool Barack Obama. The fact that we have a sitting US president who can be so easily tricked by... a 14 year old... I don't know how to put it exactly... but "pathetic" is the first word that comes to mind.
If Obama and his advisers can't even be bothered to "fact check" a high school boy, how can we ever expect him to represent our interests and negotiate reasonable deals with other countries and world leaders?

Again...Ahmed did not invent anything. But there is also no real evidence of a hoax. Remember the first place he took it was a guy who would know what it was.
The school and Police over reacted and the only thing that makes sense is that it was because the kid is a Muslim.
At the point at which the picture was taken the family was certainly on high defense, as they should have been. The picture was useful in showing the idiocy of the Police. The cops certainly could have removed the cuffs if they were no longer required.

Schools and the police over react over a lot of things.

Oh boohoo..He should have been charged with something.

Are you trying to make some case that a non-Muslim that brought a fake bomb to school would be treated differently? I agree with that premise-most likely the ATF and DHS would be involve and the kid would be labeled a domestic terrorist and locked up in federal prison. Remember...a younger (7 year old IIRC) kid that chewed a Pop-Tart into the general shape of a handgun was suspended, if not expelled. NOW THAT ONE IS BEYOND reason. Even a public school teacher should be able to tell the difference between a breakfast pastry and a gun. So is it any wonder why a faux bomb draws attention?

Pay no mind to the drones. They are bending over backwards trying to defend this ass. It's quite embarrassing for everyone on the Left that is doing this. It is also embarrassing for MIT, Google and FB to offer scholarships/internships to someone who did absolutely nothing remarkable. It really shows how pathetic and knee-jerk they are trying to trample over each other to out do the next idiot in their responses. I'm going to take apart a cellphone and put it in a shoebox and send pics to MIT, tell them I built a cellphone and ask for a scholarship.
