They want to become a "health care provider" is what executives said.
They better get rid of all that candy and soda as well then.
Exactly what I was thinking. Not only that, they have a large selection of alcohol for sale too. If you're going to cut out one thing because of it's adverse effect on health, you might as well cut out the alcohol, candy, chips, pop, ice cream and other junk food they stock.

Well that's their problem to worry about, right? Why are you worried about it, it doesn't affect you.

Do you support grocery stores putting limits on ice cream purchases or should stop selling alcohol?

If I was a shareholder in CVS, I would sell my stock.
Nowhere in any grocery store's mission statement (unless, of course, it's a health food store) will you find corporate concern regarding the health of their customers. CVS, on the other hand, wants to become more of a health care provider. And while we can debate the risks and benefits of prescription drugs, they at least are formulated to address certain healthcare needs. What are the health benefits to smoking tobacco?

What are the health benefits of Twizzlers, Potato Chips, or wine coolers that stock their shelves, HJ?

As usual you fail to comprehend the republican view . A company has the right to sell or not sell any legal product . CVS has used their right not to sell it .

Why stop there. Why not become a "Health food store"?

If I can still by a 2 liter coke, a bag of Chile Fritos and a bag of Snicker minis...what's the difference.

Rite Aid, Walgreens and Duane Reade will be more than happy to take the extra customers.

In the end though they are a drug store, not a healthcare provider.
They don't employ doctors.

They fill prescriptions and are allowed to give certain shots.

You don't necessarily need to have doctors on hand. Nurse practitioners are usually the ones who staff the minute-clinics.
