In the near future robots/computers will take 75%+ of everyone's jobs. Soon that computer you talk to on the phone will be able to answer questions, just like "Watson" the computer that beat our best human players in the TV game show of Jeopardy. (These robots for example will take everyone's job that work on telephones.)

And new kinds of robots already work in warehouses to the point no human even steps in the warehouse. And there is a new breed of robot coming that has hands like a human.

What happens when robots take over 75% of everyone's jobs?

Answer: A few rich people will own all the factories and robots, and 75% of everyone will not have a job. These 75% of people will live like homeless people on the streets (f. that.)

The above is unacceptable, we need to become Socialists. In a Socialist system we will "all" own the factories and robots.

You could start a business and hire people. Or do you just want to sit on your ass and wait for the government to take from those innovative entrepreneurs that design and build automated factories and give to you what you didn't earn?

You said after robots and computers take 75%+ of everyone's jobs "You could start a business and hire people."

What kind of business can they start?
Where will the start up money come from?
How can they compete with a modern factory?

Can you answer the above questions ??

Or do you post Fox news/Rush radio philosophies, that are nothing but corporate propaganda ??
(and you are unable to answer the above questions, because everything you posted is based on corporate lies.)

If you answer the above questions it would be an interesting conversation (but I'm betting you can't even answer the questions.)

The qualifier being " unbridled". I think anyone can agree that an extreme of either ideology isnt beneficial.

He could wish for whatever he wants, why doesn't he sell off some off the Vatican's jewels, land holdings and funny hats to help his cause?

Sounds like the same old questions many startup businesses have had to answer.

Forget about computers and robots taking all the jobs, that is nonsense. Jobs come and go with technological changes. Learn to adapt.

No, not "precisely . . .". It's just nice that the Pope has something intelligent and compassionate and sensible to say about the state of the world today, that's all. That liberals and sane conservatives feel the same way about the issues he's discussing have nothing to with him or his religion at all. You can tell by the way they've been mentioned by liberals once or twice in passing before this speech of his.

But people who vote for pro-choice candidates on the grounds that abortion is a sin, people who think that their religious beliefs supersede law in public matters (homophobic bakers and their cheerleading squads come to mind), they seem to have no problem mixing politics and religion. If they're Catholic, I guess they're obliged to support economically progressive candidates.

As for the Pope's speech, the man continues to gain my respect. I hope it gives his flock food for thought.

I have an idea, and I'm deadly serious about this: why don't you find out how to write him and ask? Be polite and he might answer, you never know. It might take him a while to get to it, but if ever there was a Pope who read his own mail, it's this one.

There is nothing wrong with what the pope said and Harrier agrees with him.

Your mistake is trying to apply the pope's message to public poliicy.
