Necklace ban for men as Tehran's 'moral police' enforce dress code

More than 70,000 trained forces sent out to streets as part of effort to combat 'western cultural invasion'
Necklace ban for men as Tehran's 'moral police' enforce dress code | World news | The Guardian

Included in this crackdown is people not owning dogs, that is too westernized.
This is why even if you do know moderate muslims, they don't make the decisions, and will be treated as infidels, if they don't follow the rules.
I don't know how one fights an ideology like this that calls itself a religion. Syria is an example of what happens to people that try to rebel, the same thing is happening in Egypt, in that they are imprisoning people by the hundreds.

You know what's ironic is the left turning this into a christian bashing opportunity, or even a partisan issue - how stupid is that?
Liberals are supposed to stand for the downtrodden, the ones that care about the unfortunate, right? Well here is an opportunity to stand for something. You claim to care about gays and women's rights, yet take no position against radical Islam? What is the matter with you?

Boy, this thread didn't waste time going from an interesting overseas event to a pussified, partisan cat-fight.

If the Iranian people don't like living under oppessive mullahs they have to change it themselves.

We threw out an oppressive global power 230 some odd years ago and that's the only way it gets done

And if we don't like it there, then we should be opposed to anyone doing it here.

I know and we wonder why the US government is so inept. Look at all the idiots fighting over left right ideology. LOL........Americans are so stupid. Liberals this conservatives that.

Iran was well on its way to becoming a propserous, democratic nation back in the 1950s but the CIA had to go in and destroy that. We are doing the same thing to Venezuela that we did to Iran. Those big bad dictators like Chavez who want to kick the bankers and big oil out of their country and keep more of their resources for their citizens. How evil!

What would you like us to do about it? It's barbaric, but short of declaring war or pressuring the UN to put economic sanctions on those countries, we can't do diddly squat about stupid laws in another country.

This is a serious danger. Radical Islam is making inroads into this country. Israel is in peril, and we are next. I am simply asking you to be aware that there are truly evil forces seeking our annihalation. Don't take your liberties for granted. Don't be complicit. Obviously after these fanatics gain power, you/we are at their mercy. They do not preach mercy, forgiveness, tolerance, equality, just the opposite. This moral relativism on the left is false. You cannot compare this type of ruthlessness, to any other religion in the world, so stop it. There is so much information available on the net about this ideology. Please avail yourself of knowledge.
As for attacking Christians, that is wrong, because they are a force for good in this world. Where will morals come from, how will you teach your children right from wrong? Can you not see that a secular society is inviting anarchy? I used to be on your side.....but I see what it has wrought, and it is not beneficial. We are a Christian nation, we were founded as such, and we need it to stay that way. That is not oppressive, that is promoting the good side of mankind.
You asked, I answered. I don't mean to lecture, but I believe these are perilous times. We must guard against these forces that are trying to tear us apart. It's time to unite, and cherish the freedoms we have.

I do not agree that we are next. There are countries in Europe (France and Britain for example) that have bigger problems with this than the US.
