LOL..they did also target Jewish groups !

Now we'll wait and see if they went after the Catholics as well.

IRS Inquisition Update | National Review Online
Along with targeting tea-party groups, the IRS may also have given extra-special attention to the tax-exempt status of some Jewish groups for political reasons.

are you saying that conservative groups are well within their rights to avoid taxes in all possible ways?

So you advocate profiling?

Is it fair for the IRS to play politics? Was it fair when it happened under LBJ or Nixon?

Is it fair for the IRS to have lied about it and apparently lied about it again in their released statement?

all I am saying is that it is possible, for the sake of argument, to wonder if the groups "targeted', by the IRS are groups that have a well known and well documented record of opposing taxes!

the major flaw in any such statement is that "they" are targeting "us". . . .there is no "they and us", in this situation, unless the "they" are avoiding their responsibility to support our duly elected government. We are, whether you like it or not, a democracy. . . .THAT is the only thing that keeps us "free". . . . .allow individuals or groups to behave in self - serving ways without consequence for the harm they cause others, and we devolve into a lawless society. I know that some of you are in favor of this. . . .mostly because you think you are bigger, stronger and meaner than anyone else, and so will prevail. That is an attitude that is society destroying.

There is no debate here. The IRS admitted they targeted these groups and apologized.
And now there's reports the IRS also targeted Jewish groups.

Having a record of opposing taxes is not a valid reason to target a group.

Those of you on the left who are acting as if this is somehow ok because you blindly hate people in groups like the Tea Party should be ashamed of yourselves. I despise the ignorance that comes from leftist groups but I wouldn't wish unwarranted scrutiny by the IRS on my worst enemy.

The left has made fun of Tea Party groups for a while now for being paranoid thinking that "the government is out to get them" and now we have proof that the government really was out to get them. Where are the apologies?
