If both sides do it? wouldn't be easier to "flag" groups with "Tea Party" or "Patriot" in their name than...Whatever progressive organizations name themselves.
I heard a talkshow host say that this should be the end of the IRS. Really, were going to scrap the entire tax structure over this. Even if the worst is IRS targeted "Patriot" groups for political gains...Why would that mean a need to do away with the IRS?
Fire who needs to go...but this does not rise to the level of ending the IRS.
Conservatives, like Romney, are more likely to try to cheat the government because they're obsessed with not paying their fair share of taxes. They employ every imaginable means to cheat the IRS since they are sick about paying taxes. The IRS is within their right to target such cheaters.
First, President Obama whipped Romney's arse. Now Republicans are crying because the IRS has caught wind of the stench that is their enormous, long-standing efforts to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. Pubs are on the hot seat now, as they continue to bleed to death because of their inferior ideology.
Good for the IRS. No apologies necessary.
Your clearly biased post does nothing aside from reveal your blind partisan view of this scandal, and to underscore your complete lack of understanding of what is actually involved. This is not about conservative groups ducking tax responsibilities, it is about conservative groups being singled out for harrassment when applying for tax exempt status. Here is a news flash...the IRS has already admitted fault. That has been established. Try to keep up.

The tax code needs to be simplified. There needs to be a straight progressive tax on income and elimination of deduction and credits, besides the the EITC. However, that even needs to be looked into since it subsidizes low level employment at the benefit of the employer.

Yes, but those of us who are among the most enlightened in this country (anti-Conservatives) can read between the lines. Conservatives, with their lousy judgment and instincts, are largely using every imaginable means to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. Under a village idiot like Bush, the IRS was dumber and acquiesced. Under this intelligent President who stands for all that is high and noble, the IRS is smarter and more focused. Sure the IRS admitted "fault", but they are in the right. They shed some light on you tax-cheating Pubs, and now you're squealing and whining. Your party continues to flail away desperately trying to be relevant, while bleeding to death. Kudos to the IRS.
Hope you get better.
