CNN is discussing this and while they are not going to be as over the top as Hannity likely will they are noting that it reads as if the talking points were changed because they knew the truth would make the W.H., The State Dept and the CIA look bad.
It shows they are learning how to handle information in the internet age where their political foes can create scandals out of nothing.
Not so sure about that. Seems to me they're in a panic now. If you think these are scandals out of nothing, you must have relocated here from Cuba or something, so that all of this looks normal to you.

Notes, emails back and forth and updated intel ALL change talking points and information on situational status. Looks like the "leak" though has fabricated his email(s) and the smoke is all man made.
Was ABC News used by someone with an ax to grind against the State Department? It looks possible. A key email in its “scoop” that the administration’s “talking points” on Benghazi had been changed a dozen times came from White House national security communications adviser Ben Rhodes. It seemed to confirm that the White House wanted the talking points changed to protect all agencies’ interests, “including those of the State Department,” in the words of the email allegedly sent by Rhodes. But CNN’s Jake Tapper reveals that Rhodes’ email didn’t mention the State Department, and doesn’t even seem to implicitly reference it. The email as published by Karl differs significantly from the original obtained by Tapper.
Two differing accounts of what happened to the SAME email with the SAME date/time stamp, but TWO VERY DIFFERENT emails.

That's a typical excuse so as not to hold anyone accountable, as they usually do. And I'm not talking just dems, because it's both sides.
The "incompetent" workers, or whoever you're referring to who were supposedly incompetent, were taking their instructions from a superior, and that person from his, on and on. People were responsible.
But they'll do their best to lie their way through any scandal, prevent the truth from being known, and will hold no one accountable.

And even more important, it was the reason for the lies. Osama was dead and AQ was on the run....NOT. Knowing the truth about BG might not have cost Obama the election, but it would have hurt him, badly.
