This is news? I thought from the get-go, it was stated that the Bushmaster was left in the vehicle.
As far as the focus on the Bushmaster, I think it just takes one shooting massacre, no matter what gun was used, to bring the issues to the forefront.
The shooters mother had multiple guns, it's possible that he left one of them behind in the car, doesn't mean he didn't take a rifle with him into the school.

When the news reports first came out, they (Cops in interviews, Police dispatch reports) reported that the killer used pistols and that a Bushmaster was in the backseat of his car. But never the less, the narrative the media used was that the Bushmaster was the weapon used. Why the focus on the Bushmaster instead of the pistols?
Actually this is old news. It was reported on Fox news. If it was not reported on left wing liberal media it was because it didn't fit their agenda just like they didn't report Benghazi they didn't report it because it didn't fit Obama's "the world is a safer place" agenda. They didnt report Benghazi until they were forced then tried to blow it off as unimportant. It does not surprise me at all.
So quotes from the police and chief medical examiner which were given AFTER the clips you've posted are wrong? The police were extremely careful about releasing details in the days after the shooting to avoid all of this conspiracy BS. When the actually confirmed the weapons, it was days after the shooting. Sorry, but you're wrong... and obviously quite gullible to believe such nonsense.

At one point, law enforcement officials told NBC News that Lanza had four handguns while he stalked the halls of Sandy Hook, but that could not be confirmed. It appears he carried at least two 9mm handguns, in addition to the rifle, which was the primary weapon.
What was the subject again? Seems like the OP was wrong, and that Rush made the mistake of using NBC as a source. I'm as pro-gun as they come, but promiting mis-information makes the pro-gun side as dumb as the anti-gunners.

The gun being cleared in that video is not a shotgun, it's a Bushmaster .223 rifle. I take it you haven't been around too many evil black rifles in your life.

The medical examiner confirmed that the primary weapon used was a rifle. Wall Stree Journal reported this. Is the Wall Street Journal a socialist newspaper now??
