Within hours of the attack, Rupert Murdock (Owner of News Corp and Fox) took to Twitter to call for an automatic-weapons ban. “Terrible news today. When will politicians find courage to ban automatic weapons? As in Oz after similar tragedy,”
Because you can't teach fools that 1994 through 2004 did nothing to stop anything. Only drove the prices up and made it hard on the law abiding people.
How so ?
I wonder if people know that the Ban in 1994, did not stop the sell or owner ship of the weapons it banned, it just stopped the manufacture of new ones.
Yeah, We know it's 2012 - Because now Obama sells more guns in this country than anyone else. He could end this if he would just embrace the second amendment of the constitution that he promised to uphold when he was sworn in on inauguration day.
OP, can you tell me in what paragraph of the Constitution the right to assault weapons is guaranteed? Thanks.
Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
(We are the people)
Infringe
1. Actively break the terms of (a law, agreement, etc.): "infringe a copyright".
2. Act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on: "infringe on his privacy".

As long as you served and are of sound mind I fully support your right to carry. I do not support the notion that everyone all over should be walking around with a weapon. It will not create a safer environment. In mogudishu, children/men/women/old folks walk around with kalashnikov's and 9mm hand guns. Arguments over rice lead to murder all the time. Everyone is on edge. I am not trying to compare Somalia to the US but it does create a strange atmosphere.

There you go.
So when they wrote the Constitution our Founding Fathers knew what an assault weapon was? Try again, all that says is the right to bear "arms." It says nothing about assault weapons because it was left up to us to decide what form of "arms" that should and shouldn't be allowed.
arms plural of arms (Noun)
Noun
Weapons and ammunition; armaments: "they were subjugated by force of arms".
By the definition of "arms" you are saying no form of "weapon" should be "infringed." Well then where do I sign up for a tank and a rocket launcher to take with me whenever I go out shopping, don't want to "infringe" on those "arms."

It outlawed them in some States...not all expired in '04.
