Doesn't Israel have mandatory military service? Why dont other socialist countries have this problem.....
Also isn't Israel essentially in constant war with its neighbors? Please try again.
Utah teachers have always carried guns & have have had no incidents.
Until the early 1960s, American commercial passenger pilots were required to carry handguns. An Federal Aviation Administration rule that allowed commercial airline pilots to be armed was inexplicably rescinded two months before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Well when you mention it that way. Wait a minute, let me think about that picture, isn't Israel surrounded by hostile countries towards them? Doesn't every Israeli have to join the Israeli army, therefore making that guide or teacher (can't tell for sure with the picture) a person trained to use a gun? (the answer is yes in case you are wondering, all Israelis over the age of 18 have to serve in the military) Also, that isn't an assault weapon, it is a gun from WWII I believe.

I just want to let you know how you are wrong about this Pic. It was taken in Israel. Anyone who has ever been to Israel knows you see a lot of armed military all over. The Women in with the Rifle is not a teacher. She is a parent Chaperone. Also, in Israel there is compulsory military duty.
Do you want to live in a society that has to provide armed escorts all over? Do you think your third grade teacher would be comfortable with a side arm while teaching long division?
We need a cultural change........Just because some of you have does not mean you get to dictate to the rest of us that we all need to carry a weapon.
Lastly, did you serve your Country in arms? Have you ever had a shoot an enemy combatant? It is not as easy as you would think; especially if your not expecting it.

Reason: language
I don't think that the reason that Israel doesn't have incidents of Jews murdering Jewish children is a bit deeper than the fact that you can show a picture of was is purported to be a teachers with a M-1 carbine, if she is in fact a teacher and if this picture was taken in Israel proper or in the occupied territories.
As for the whopping 7,269 signatures on the petition, let's keep this in perspective. The Los Angeles Unified School District has 31,748 teachers; New York, 75,000; Chicago, 21,320; Miami-Dade, 23,566.
