I would agree to a certain extent. Here is why-

1. we have the worst president in US history
2. ANY republican candidate should be beating Obama by 20% points
3. the country is becoming more poor (mostly due to liberal policy)
4. The average IQ of Americans has been declining and is now at 96
5. There is an increased number of Hispanic immigrants
6. Less prosperous citizens tend to rely on government and will vote for the party that gives them the most handouts

Given these factors, the concepts of individual liberty, hard work, states rights, and personal responsibility, are not shared by a good deal of the electorate. We are on a fast track to becoming a third world nation, and we are riding the liberal/democratic train to get there.

This, of course, is terrible news for the nation, but great for democrats. The less prosperous and less intelligent the citizens become portends success for the democrats, as this is thier constituency.

Hopefully folks wise up and both parties go away. Sadly it will never happen.

Democrats love the poor so much that they excel at making more and more of them.

Default This may be the last chance for a Republican to be President.

This could be true and the people will pay dearly for it.

Might be true in the short run since Democrats will lure people in with free stuff, but there will come a day when the people who contribute will get tired of supporting those who don't.

When minorities realize that the Libs make fools of them, maybe they will change their voting pattern.

Because so many Republicans are not interested in actually governing fairly and productively and instead want a raging idealogue.

A few years back, Karl Rove invented the idea of "perpetual majority". Reality proved this idea preposterous. As an independent, I can assure you that there will always be right and left.
The immediate problem may be a dysfunctional government, which because of the deep gap between the parties, may bring the US to a halt.

You mean second worst. The fact that you think Bush did a better job than Obama is quite absurd.

Which we can thank the religious conservatives and their 6000 year old earth, anti-evolution beliefs for.

And yet the rest of the 1st World who is doing far better than we are, and has the highest quality of living are far far more liberal than we are. Still living in your own little world I see.

I think the Republican party is painting itself into a corner with too many voters.

The republican party has been captured by these conservatives for whom politics is based on their ethnic, and religious identity as they see the America of their fantasies change.

These citizens become more disillusioned with the reality of the American government and other Americans and cling ever more to their fantasy version of America.

The public policy ideas of these conservatives are based on hurting those other groups of Americans who they identify as the moochers, and takers, and the lazy.

As long as this group of Americans makes up the base of the Republican party, they won't allow the Republican party to reach out to those other Americans they despise.

This cycle wont last forever, but it could last for the forseeable future.
