Here in Pennsylvania, the big controversy is not about having a "valid ID" ... but what constitutes a "valid ID" ...

In this state, in order to register to vote, you ALWAYS had to have an ID to identify yourself, and this included a selective service card, a student ID, a US Passport, a birth certificate, an employment ID, etc.

However the requirement is now being tightened to recognize ONLY a Driver's License or a Non-Driver's License issued by a branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles, which involves making a trip to the city or town that is your County Seat, filling out an application, having your picture taken, PAYING A FEE, etc.

It will especially disenfranchise the poor, the elderly, people who don't own cars or know where to find a DMV.

That is the point. Try to make it difficult for the Seniors, for non-drivers, the poor, the minorities to register to vote.

This doesn't bother me much, I have faith the courts understand this and will throw out the more unreasonable efforts to limit or restrict certain groups of American citizens from exercising their right to vote.

Your question is meaningless and irrelevant.
Why do you want non-citizens to vote?

It's disgusting how readily you are willing to shut eligible voters out of voting because the GOP tells you to think this way.
It's disgusting that you actually believe that government is capable of doing anything with that kind of accuracy.

I'm not "back to" anything, since I never suggested that. Making up arguments.

That is what happens when you make it all but impossible to find and identify voter fraud... you end up not being able to prove it. Sharia law makes rape go away too, by requiring four male witnesses to the rape.... or it did not happen.

In Texas you can register online and only have to check a box saying "yes" to US Citizen.

Elections, and I am an election worker, are run locally, not federally. Your specter of "the government" is badly misplaced.

.
How does requiring a drivers license or an I.D. card make it difficult for minorities to register to vote?

That is what you all do. You call voter ID racist, because you claim non-whites can't get an ID.
