I think he should have that right, but it should be noted that they arrested him because he has 2 prior charges.

Did you even read the story. It looks like most of you did not. OK, the FACTS:

1. He was NOT charged with shooting the burglar. He was charged with a WEAPONS violation because he had prior convictions and was not eligible to possess a gun. This would be true in any state. He would not be allowed to have a gun or a CCW permit ANYWHERE.
2. The burglary occured at a commercial business. He would not be covered by the Castle Doctrine of self defense anywhere in the United States because it was his business and not his occupied domicile that was being burglarized.
3. The charges are not even that serious. If they were, the judge would not have let him go with no bail (signature bond) while holding the burglar on a $150,000 bond.

Now, in my opinion, that has nothing to do with the law, anytime anybody kills a burglar, it is a good thing in my view. I would not have charged him with anything myself. My guess is that it will plea bargined down to a community service sentence with no jail time.

Not every criminal can be reformed, I don't care what anyone says. Maybe this guy has changed his thieving ways, who knows, but statistically speaking, most criminals offend again.

As well as vote, or is that too extreme? I'd give them that right back before the right to own a gun.
