Texas landowners lease the mineral rights to "American companies". You will pay US to have oil.

Then, after you pay us handsomely for the oil, you will pay US once more to refine it for you, as we have 85% of U.S. refining capacity.

BTW, where is the Shell headquarters located? Where is ExxonMobile headquarters? Where is BP's U.S headquarters? Where is ConocoPhillips headquarters?
All agreements will obviously be renegotiated. The oil is ours. You can keep the sand.

Many are private leases between the landowners and the companies.
You don't know as much as you think you do.

Why is this hard for you Texans to understand? The deal will be -- a) you're out of the union, b) the union keeps the oil since it's obviously ours. Who cares what arrangements are currently in place?

Oh, obviously. You would "obviously" have the upper hand in those renegotiations. I think you are getting a little high sniffing your own socks.

We Texans would "obviously" renegotiate more favorable terms for ourselves.

Don't like it? Come and try to take it by force.

.....oil,...and most everything else. Comments driven solely by jealously and stupidity.

EVERYONE can't live in Texas. Someone has to occupy the other lands that make up these United States.

This demonstrates a total failure to understand how land titles, mineral leases, and basic property rights work in the U.S.

I understand that without Texas keeping the wolves at bay, the U.S. will revert to some form of centralized soviet-style command economy where the government owns all resources, capital and means. But that doesn't mean you bedwetting commies can impose your authoritarian will on Texas landowners.

They threaten to secede every year now.
They are upset cause it seems the rest of the country does not care.
They need to G.T.F.O or S.T.F.U

It'll take one disaster to get them to run back home.

If Texans aren't going to be reasonable in our negotiations, we will have to apply some pressure. Of course I expect Texans to try to steal our oil, but it will be fairly easy to stop the looters.
