If you said a Paris/Dakar rally driver was brighter or more perceptive I "might" have thought you were right...but NASCAR
?...really?
I don't like NASCAR, so it is of no big deal to me. I'm not surprised they turned down the invitation at first. Doesn't matter to me.
If it were me, I would have accepted the invitation. If it was Hitler, Stalin, Putin, or Idi Amin, NO. I don't agree with some things the President has done. However, I'm not going to turn down a White House invitation from the President. I wouldn't have done it under Clinton or Bush either.

I agree..I would have really hated to go if Reagan made the invite, but I like free grub,so........
No , not really. The Majority of Tax Paying Citizens is not going to reward bad policy and weak leadership. We as a country is tied of polite, politicaly correct decisions.
It'a a matter of respecting the Office of the President even if you don't like the current occupant. I had very little liking of President Bush's policies, but if invited to the White House I would certainly have gone and given him the respect the office and title deserves. As a fellow American, I would hope you'd do the same.

Although I loathed the Bush regime I think little George would have been a riot to hang out with for just a bit..his head is as hard as a Bois d'arc fence post, but he would've been fun to screw with.."so Mr.President...I hear you are now a WAR TIME President...how's that gig working out for ya ol' buddy??...pass me a sip out of that flask you have there in your jacket pocket and let's get this BBQ grille started"...good times
