There were searches for chloroform on the computer and Caylee's body had duct tape on it. While her daughter was missing, Casey was out partying. There was a lot of circumstantial evidence.
1. Searches for Chloroform - mother admitted to it, then the prosecution said she was at work. Regardless, they can't prove Casey made the searches. Definitely not a slam dunk
2. Caylee's body had duct tape on it. Yes, but there was no Casey DNA. Definitely not a slam dunk
3. Casey out partying - Weird yes, but Definitely not a slam dunk
The sickest part about it all is that this witch could earn millions of dollars book/movie deals, etc.
DISGUSTING!
Well if people like you would not buy the books the deals would not exist. Someone is buying the national enquirer their readership is higher than the Wall Street Journal.... the nations largest paper
Apparently not.
The requirement of "beyond a reasonable doubt" was not met.
Do you really think it's okay that people convict people with shoddy evidence?
That's not the US I want.
I believe it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt, the totality of the evidence proves it in my view. They proved premeditated murder IMO.
The internet searches- ruptured spleen, neck breaking, chloroform, ingredients of chloroform, how to make chloroform. She was the only one home to be able to make these searches, all of which were deleted. She was obviously researching ways to kill somebody
Casey was the last person seen with Caylee. She was unaccounted for half of the days of the 16th, then later seen strolling with her boyfriend in Blockbuster. There was no sign of Caylee. Casey stayed with her boyfriend those 31 days and neither her nor his roommates saw Caylee. Caylee was not with her grandparents. Obviously Caylee was already dead at that point in time
Day or two after Caylee was last seen, Casey goes to neighbor's house to borrow shovel, returns with it 45 minutes later. Her parent's shed was locked. Now what reason would she have for needing a shovel?
They found traces of human decomposition in her car. If they theory of the drowning were true a body would not have been in her car long enough to cause the stench, or for air samples testing for human decomp to come back positive. They also found a strand of Caylee's hair that had banding on it that only occurs during human decomposition. Testing for chloroform in the trunk also came back positive.
Caylee's remains were found close to the Anthony home. Inside the bag, Caylee's comforter set and her favorite stuffed animal were wrapped around the remains. Only a person from that home would have access. The bag also included a rare type of duct tape, which was also found in the Anthony's home.
Casey lied to police about the whereabouts of her child. I do not think it is reasonable that she would have continued lying about a simple accident and have put her life on the line in a death penalty case. she was also the only individual who only had any semblance of a motive for this crime.
I have heard other say perhaps the drowning story was true, and they put duct tape over Caylee's mouth to make it appear to be a kidnapping. If that were true, why on earth would they bury her with an item you could only get from within the Anthony home? Why would they change her clothes, if she drowned in the morning she would have still been wearing pajamas. When that theory is analyzed thoroughly, I do not think it is possible to harbor reasonable doubt from it.
Ummmm, she was convicted of lying.
What proof do you have that she killed her daughter?
Please present it.
Scott Peterson was convicted on circumstantial evidence. You think he was innocent? What about OJ?? You think his jury was correct? The fact is she has a minor in her care who died, either accidentally OR intentionally. Either way, her carelessness is illegal. Caylee was her ward and she was at the very least, negligent and reckless. That is against the law when it comes to a minor. So yes, I know she got off when she shouldn't have.
Given the publicity and the general media presumption of guilt, it was very brave of the jurors to deliver that verdict. A guilty verdict would have been the easy way out and nobody would have criticized them for it. I think the verdict shows that the jurors took their responsibility very seriously but it also shows that the prosecution did not do a great job in proving their case.
