It has a lot to do with analyzing and planning, two major strengths of the human species compared to animals.

True. The second one is no longer done but the first still has many supporters.

Way to completely miss the point. Sorry, our forefathers were very progressive and liberal for their time.

Why do Progressives buy into social experiments that are unproven?
Or worse, why do they keep trying to force social experiments that (http://forum.isi.org/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3830054552/m/1850052092 - broken link) are proven failures (http://www.twoorthree.net/2007/06/liberal_mo_anot.html - broken link)?

Actually... no. Not all of them are experiments at all. Take the Euro for example. It was not an experiment. The experiment was the dollar. And because that worked so well... the Europeans replicated it.

As to the NWO... I never really know what right wingers are talking about when they use the term.

And as to "flipping the switch" on green technologies, at this point you are rather patently hallucinating. We've been talking about alternative energy almost my entire adult life... and here we are still burning fossil fuels.

We transitioned from steam to petroleum faster than we have transitioned from petroleum to any alternative. It took only 40 years from the first oil well to the first gas powered car. We are still using gas powered cars 116 years later.

You seem to have a skewed understanding of how fast technologies change.

Saying the "liberals are always wrong" is every bit as stupid and wrong as saying "conservatives are always wrong."

You're an extremist, but you have so little perspective that you cannot see how far out on a limb you really are.
Generation after generation dependent on welfare proves you wrong. Or was the progressive goal really to oppress the poor? In that case, it was a success.

In an America ruled exclusively by Conservatives:

Women would not have the right to vote

Women would continue to face discrimination and it would tolerated if not encouraged

Workers would not have the right to strike for better pay or safer working conditions

There would be no regulation of food safety, drug safety, airline safety, railroad safety, or consumer product safety.

There would be no public schools

Segregation would continue to exist.

Non-White Americans would become second class citizens

Racial discrimination would be tolerated at the very least and possibly encouraged.

Gay, lesbian and transsexual people would have no civil rights

Discrimination of non-Christians at the very least would be tolerated and possibly encouraged.

Corporations would allowed to freely pollute the environment.

Financial markets and transactions would be unregulated.

There would be no Social Security or Medicare

It proves nothing of the sort. And you have no idea what my attitude towards welfare is anyway.

Again, you are simply spewing ideology. What's the point?

Not at all. You didn't read Sowell's Poverty Pimp's Poem article, did you? Read it. It includes Sowell's and another economist's professional opinions.

These are ALL social EXPERIMENTS! Experiments that they have no idea how they will turn out. Experiments that HAVE led to the starvation and deaths of millions of people! Why must they experiment on the human race like they do? I think they are dangerous as all hell for doing that. Just about ALL Communist regimes have tried these experiments in one way or another, they ALL end in misery for the people.
Why do conservatives buy into religion when it's unproven? Religion has led to the deaths of millions of people! Why must they treat the human race like they do? I think they are dangerous as all hell for doing that. Just about ALL religions have done this in one way or another, they ALL end in misery for the people!
