When you voted the guy who wrote it into the VP spot in the WH? Don't you fools feel really dumb now blaming Bush for this when it was one of your Progressive heros that actually wrote it? It just makes sense, Progressives are ALL about nabbing freedoms, power and control, but are too ideological to see it or admit it. Sneaky snakes!

Biden himself draws parallels between his 1995 bill and its 2001 cousin. "I drafted a terrorism bill after the Oklahoma City bombing. And the bill John ******** sent up was my bill," he said when the Patriot Act was being debated, according to the New Republic, which described him as "the Democratic Party's de facto spokesman on the war against terrorism."
I am against the Patriot Act. I think it infringes on the rights of US citizens in ways it should not be intended. Why should they be able to read my email?
We don't. The better question is why do pro-freedom, pro-constitution, pro-small government Republicans have no problem with it?
Actually, Repubs might have a problem with it, but since Bush signed it, they don't wanna denigrate it too much. If Obama had passed the Patriot Act, the apoplexy from Repubs would've reached epic proportions.

The right to read your email wasnt a claim made by Bush, that power wasnt claimed until Obama filed a court briefing claiming they had the power to do this..

Lol I don't think desertdetroiter understands, that it works both ways doesn't it? No side is pure when it comes to the Patriot Act. Let's face it. The bill was, and still is, a bipartisan effort. There's your bipartisanship at work. I always said, bipartisanship is the devil in disguise as something that sounds nice. Bipartisanship is NEVER good in government, only gridlock is

Yes it was definitely bipartisan, but the kicker is that the Left wanted to hang Bush for it, meanwhile it was one of their own who authored it. DOH!

I didn't mean that. I meant that we do, actually. I know i do. However, i don't know a single Repub who had anything to say about it when it passed.
